Empathy is often emphasised as a crucial leadership personality trait.

 

Empathy enables leaders to connect deeply with their teams, build trust and foster collaboration. 
 

  • Can there be too much empathy?

  • Can there be too little empathy? 

  • What are the consequences of the wrong dosage? 

  • Can empathy be used as a conscious leadership tool?

If your curiosity is piqued by the recognisability of these leadership dilemmas - then you should join my research on empathy in leadership!
 

Your input will help explore how empathy influences leadership decisions and how leaders can balance empathy and objectivity to create more inclusive and innovative workplaces.

WHO
The inclusion criteria are; 

 

  • Managers with at least 5 years of international responsibility and at least 5 employees in reference.
     

  • You must be able to express yourself about empathy in Danish, Norwegian or English.
     

​

WHEN / WHERE

  • ONLINE Interviews will be conducted online from November 2024 to the end of January 2025.
     

​

ANONYMITY

  • A pre-defined university approved mutual agreement on ethics, data processing and anonymity must be signed before participation

​

ETHICS

  • This study has been approved by the Research Ethics Committee at Henley Business School / Reading University (UK).
    ​

  • The research forms the final part of the Henley M.Sc. Cognitive Behavioural Coaching for Hans F. Laustsen - and is supervised by lecturers at Henley Business School.
